Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston feel similarly about their current relationship plans.
Aniston recently opened up about being 'ready' to date again, and her former husband, Pitt, has now expressed a desire for the same thing.
He 'would dearly love to date again', reported US Weekly.
And not just any kind of dating, either. He wants to 'find that special someone to be with long-term'.
But while he may be looking for long-lasting romance, life in the limelight makes it harder to pursue a new relationship, a source told the publication.
'The trouble is that he hates the process and how he can't even step out for a friendly coffee without it being gossiped about,' it has been said.
It seems the former spouses have the same approach to dating apps, too. The father-of-six, who formerly joked about having a Tinder profile, during the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards, after his divorce from Angelina Jolie, later revealed that he actually does not have an online dating account and even said: 'I'm not even sure how it all works,' when speaking to Extra TV. Aniston has expressed her disinterest in dating apps, referring to herself as an 'old-school girl'.
The Oceans Eleven star was married to Aniston for five years from 2000 to 2005, before a very public divorce, as he moved into a new relationship and subsequent marriage with actor Angelina Jolie.
The 57-year-old first crossed paths with Anniston in 1994, as was revealed in Aniston's interview with Rolling Stone in 2001.
'[He] was just this sweet guy from Missouri, you know? A normal guy,' she told the publication at the time.
Aniston, who started dating Pitt in the late 90s, also explained her friends' reservations about the new relationship, worrying that Pitt came off as a 'conceited f*ck' to begin with.
Though she maintained that they were meant to be.
Speaking of their first date, she said: 'It was weird...That was a really easy evening. It was really fun,' during an interview on an episode of ABC's Primetime Thursday.
Fast-forward to now, and Aniston, who married the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor in a lavish Malibu wedding, and who is still close to Pitt, has also said 'it's time' to date.
The 52-year-old actor, who was also recently rumoured to be dating fellow Friends alumni David Schwimmer - a rumour which she called 'bizarre' on Entertainment Tonight - said that while she hasn't found the right person just yet, 'I think I'm ready to share myself with another'.
Though she did say up until now she has enjoyed being 'my own woman', highlighting that her single life has been 'really nice', having been in relationships since the age of 20, during an episode of the Lunch with Bruce podcast.
Aniston, who was also married to Justin Theroux for two years before they finalised their divorce in 2017, has just this week addressed pregnancy rumours and the comments she has received around choosing a career over kids.
'It's like, "You have no clue what's going [on] with me personally, medically, why I can't … can I have kids?"' she said to The Hollywood Reporter.
One thing she can account for is her friendships with both of her former husbands.
She was recently spotted lovingly embracing Pitt at the 26th annual SAG Awards, which happened to be the same event where Pitt joked about Tinder.
And during her and Theroux's joint statement in 2018, announcing their split, it read: 'We are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another'.
She even recently wished him happy birthday via an Instagram story, proving that she is friendly with her exes.
